Do you remember the old fable about the farmer who had a goose that laid golden eggs? He was happy about his good fortune but wanted more eggs faster. In his short-sighted frustration, the farmer cut off the head of the goose to reach inside and get all the golden eggs at once. Of course, all he found were goose guts. He ignored the universal truth: In order to produce golden eggs (desired results) one must maintain, preserve and enhance that which allows production to occur (people, systems, machines).
